Should Lancaster Park be found to be too wet to-day, the Trial match and President's Cup match (Merivale B v Christ's College) will be played on the North Park. If the change of locality is made it will be notified by 1 o'clock, at the usual places in town. The Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union meet at the Clarendon, at 1 p.m. today, to consider important business relating to the interprovincial engagements of Canterbury's football representatives. The Wellington Rugby Union has arranged the following programme :—Wairarapa 28th, Taranaki September Ist, Napier 4th, Canterbury 11th, Southland 15th, Otago 18th. It is understood, however, that there is difference of opinion about going further South than Christchurch, and the decision is likely to be reversed. Later. The weather has broken, and now promises to be fine for Saturday's match. Mr W. G. Garrard, who is to act as referee, arrived from Christchurch to-day. Tomorrow's Auckland team will be as follows i —Full back, Masefield; three-quarters, Absolum, Smith, Harrison; halves, Riley, Braund (captain), Brady ; forwards, Murray, Dacre, Gillett, Pitt, Wilson, Gallagher, Anderson, Speight. The average weight of the backs is ll£st, and forwards 13£ st. The visitors have the advantage in weight over the Wellingtons, whose average weight is backs a little over list and forwards lost. AUCKLAND, August 20. Mr G. H. Dixon, Secretary of the Auckland Rugby Union, has received invitations from several of the other Unions, including Otago, for an Auckland team to visit them. The Ancklanders, however, will be unable to visit the South Island this year.
