Place Betting {1, 2, 3): 4to 1 on Chelandry, 6 to 5 agst Cortegar, 5 to 4 Goletta, 5 to 4 Liraasol. Limasol drew oat from Goletta, Chelandry and Galatia, the next pair being Merle and Fortaliee. They ran go for a quarter of a mile, when Goletta was in command from Limaaol, Galatia, aud Chelandry, with *ortalice now last behind Cortegar, Merle, and Flying Colours. Half-way through the furzes Limasol resumed the command, with Chelandry, Cortegar, and Flying Colours in immediate attendance. At this point Goletta was refusing to make the least effort, and on the top of the hill had become conspicuously last. Inithe meanwhile Chelandry had drawn up to the heels of Limasol, and they were followed to Tattenham Corner by Galatia and Flyine Colours, well clear of Cortegar and Fortaliee. Immediately after crossing the road, Chelandry drew up to the neck of Limasol, and the pair came ou from Galatia, Flying Colours, and Fortaliee, until a quarter of a mile from home, at which advanced stage Limasol, who had always been going as well as Chelandry, began to forge ahead again. The upshot was that she had the race in hand, and steadily creating a good-sized gap eventually won by three lengths, with four lengths between Second ajid third. Galatia was fourth (beaten a head) and Cortegar fifth. Time by Benson's chronograph, 2min 45sec. Value of the stakes, £4150.
