PROHIBITION CONVENTION.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TET—GRAM.)
PALMERSTON NORTH, May 25. At to-day's sitting of the Temperance Convention the following resolutions were carried:—That every Church be urged to observe two Temperance Sundays every year, and that the Executive be asked to give effect to this resolution j that the Convention record its deep sense of the loss sustained by the temperance party through the death of tbe Rev. P, R. Monro, and that its sincere Sympathy be offered to Mrs Monro and family; that tbe Minister of Education be urged to allow temperance to be taught in the public schools, and that Taylor's book on alcohol be added to the list of books used in the public schools. A Committee was appointed to draw up a scheme to make tho New Zealand Alliance Executive a truly representative body. A number of recommendations were made to the New Ze_and Albanee. The members of the Convention were entertained at dinner to-day. V
