AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES.
(By Telegraph.)
(PROM OUR COERE3PONBKN*-.) AUCKLAND, April 15. There was a large muster of horses at Ellerslie this morning, and the majority were worked before heavy rain set in. The two-year-old colt St. Conon galloped six furlongs at top on the coarse proper, and the other Napier juvenile, Defiant, worked in company with Eton and St. Crispin. The Owl and Picklock covered four furlongs at top, while Miss Emmy and Miss Rose were spurted on the tan. Kanaka was restricted to a light task. St. Paul got through a strong gallop on the tan over a mile and a-half, being assisted by Pirate i and Maid of Athol. Day Star worked at .top on the tan over about a mile, Armilla bringing the Easter Handicap favourite home. Day Star is iv great trim. Nestor and Miss Nelson were given half pace work on the plough. Haria and Lufra worked in company on the plough. After breakfast Rex and Doverail were galloped strong six furlongs on the course proper, the latter shaping well. The West Coast horses, '.. Donovan, Waiiti and Pyroxylin, arrived yesterday. In A.R«.C. acceptances list Atlanta (6sb 71b) is omitted from the Railway Handicap. There is little double event wagering on Easter and Steeplechase. Levanter is weaker for,the cross country race. Miss Nelson, Kingswood and Bombardier are now being most fancied. It is being said that Fabulist and Porahgi Potae are doubtful starters for the Easter Handicap.
