Mr W. P. Reeves, in a .letter .to* Ths Times, denies the statement that He**? Zealand cheese is adulterated and ridicules the assertions made in the House of Commons that the consumers of frozen meat are liable to cancer and other diseases. He suggests the appointment of a Royal Commission to enquire into the qualities of imported meats and define tbe countries from which it can be exported. Melbouene, April 14. At a meeting of the Agricultural Society a strong protest was made against Mr Digby's assertions in the House of Commons that Australian frozen meat was inferior in quality as a means of sustenance.
