Cxvil Casks.—Lindemann v Butler, claim £8 19a 4d, for groceries supplied. Mr Johnston for the plaintiff, Mr Byrne for the defendant, who pleaded that the goods having been supplied to his wife, she was responsible. She had already been sued, but it was then held that she was not liable.. Judgment waejiow for the plaintiff for the amount claimed, with costs. Iα the case of Sheppard v Haynes, in which judgment had been given for the plaintiff, and he had, proceeding to execution, seized certain effects, a claim by the D.I.C. over a sewing machine came before the Court by way of interpleader. Mr Wilding appeared for the claimant, Mr Francis for the judgment creditor, for whom it was argued that the bailment over the machine, given to secure deferred payments, was not evidence of a hiring, but was really an unregistered bill of sale, and being uniegistered was invalid for the purposes of- the proceedings. After argument his Worshipj saying that he followed many former decisions, held the bailment to be good, and ordered the machine to be given up to the claimant. Schlesinger v Executors of P. C. Haultain, claim £12 10s 10d. Mr Donnelly for the plaintiff, Mr Thomas for the defendants. The plaintiff, a stamp dealer, alleged that he had extensive dealings in the sale and purchase of stamps with Mr Haultain. at whose decease the balance owing him was as stated in the claim. After evidence had been heard judgment was given for the plaintiff for £6 5s 5d with costs. Judgments went for plaintiffs with costs in Wigrara Bro3. v Burnip, £23 0s 8d; Harris and Son v Watts, £2 7s 4d ; Raphael v O'Leary, £6; and Milne v Wilson, £16 16 4d. Mills v Donald was adjourned till April 26bh. Smith v Mansfield, claim £2 15s 9d, for balance of an account; Mr Donnelly for plaintiff; judgment for the plaintiff for 2s 2d, with coats.
