Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations :—
TUESDAY, MARCH 9.
For Napier, per Kawatiri, at 10 a.m.; late fee letters, 10.10 a.m.; guard's van, 10.55 a.m. train.
For Greymouth, per Ohau, at 3 a.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10.
For Northern Ports per Waihora, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Westport, per Janet Nicoll, at 3 p.m,; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train.
FRIDAY, MARCH 12.
For Northern Ports and Australian colonies, via Wellington, per Taluue, at 3 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m. r guard's van, 4 p.m. train.
. Mails leave Sydney for Noumea on 11th March.
Mails for Australia, &c, per Tarawera, close at Bluff, on March 9th, at 2 p.m. Mails for Tonga, Samoa and Fiji, per Taviuni, close at Auckland on March 11th, at 4 p.m.
Mails for Raratonga and Tahiti, per Upolu, close at Auckland on Maroh 17th, at 4 p.m. Mails for Norfolk Island close at Auckland, per Southern Cross, on March 27th, at 11 a.m.
Mails for United Kingdom, <fee., per Maori, close at Wellington on 9th March, at 10 a.m.
Note.—A Money Order and Savings Bank Office has been opened at Greendale. Note.—From Ist Maroh the letter-boxes on guard's vans on slow trains running between Christchurch and Oamaru will be open to the public to post letters bearing Id extra postage as late fee.
