WANGANUI, Maroh 6. Major Sommerville is trying to organise a rifle team to attend the Queeirs celebrations on the basis of two men from each large centre and one from Invercargill. Oamaruj Nelson, Napier, Wangnnui, New Plymouth, Masfcerfcon and Woodville. It is understood that the Government will assist. The members of the New Zealand Rifle Association Council have been asked to consult the Mayor of each borough and call a meeting. As the time is short, immediate action i$ necessary. Hβ estimates the cost at about £100 each man.

The following members of the Chriefcchurch Mounted Rifles have received orders to proceed to Wellington, to fornvpart of the mounted contingent which goes Home to represent New Zealand in the Record reign celebrations:—Sergeant Crosby, Trumpeter F. Ghegwin, and Troopers A. Bailey, J. Bailey and Wheeler. They take their horses and equipments with them to Wellington by the Corinna, to-day.
