CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held at Warner's Hotel on Saturday night. Present —Messrs F. Wilding, C. R. Smith, F. C. Gerard, C. Lafferty, R. D. Hannan, H. C. Ridley, F. C. Raphael (Hon. Secretary) and C. B. Clark.

An apology was received for the absence of Mr H. D. Carter.

The Treasurer submitted a balance sheet of the Otago-Canterbury match. The receipts amounted to £75 15s Bd, and the expenditure to £27 3a, leaving a profit of £48 12s Bd. The credit balance at the- Bank after allowing for all cheques was £47 5s 3d.

A letter was read from the South Canter bury Association asking the Association to reconsider its decision not to play a match with that body.

Messrs Raphael and Hannan were appointed a Sab-Committee to arrange a match if possible. In answer to a letter from the Sports Protection Association, it was decided to endorse the disqualifications of that body. Correspondence was read from the Upper Riccarton Club respecting the match Lancaster Park A v Riccarton, President's Cup, team, which the Association had decided should count as a loss to each club for it having been played on a day when Cup matches were declared off. The writers apologised, explained the circumstances, and asked that the decision of the Association should be reconsidered.

The Association, having regard to the explanation and circumstances, revoked its previous decision, and recorded a caution only againet the Clubs. It was decided to allot another Saturday for the completion of the senior matches— Midland v United XI. and United XIII. v Lancaster Park XIII. ; also that the winners of the match Midland v United should play the Park XL, and the losers should meet the. Park XIII., Sydenham and Addington to play the United XIII. It was agreed that upon the completion of these matches the season should close.

It was stated that the United XIII. v Lancaster Park XI. would be continued at Lancaster Park at 4,30 p.m. to-day.
