The Warrimoo brought the following cargo from Vancouver for New Zealand :—Two cases bicycles, 6 cases vehicles, 684 cases salmon, 12 cases drugs, 12 cases paper, 1 case leather. RICH GOLD RETURNS. Melbourne, March 5. Rich gold has been struok in the Highland Chief mine at Freeburgh. Twenty-five pounds of stone gave two pounds of gold. The reef is large and well defined. Other prospeotora are obtaining large returns. QUEENSLAND NATIONAL BANK. Brisbane, March 5. In deference to the opinion in London that none of the present Board of Director, of the Queenstend National Bank should offer themselves for re-election, these gentlemen have decided to retire at the forthcoming general meeting. A DASTARDLY OUTRAGE. What looks like a dastardly attempt to destroy property was made at the Golden Cave mine at Crocodile. When toe fire was being replenished in the battery room an explosion occurred. It is presumed that dynamite was concealed in the wood. Only small damage resulted. TELEGRAPHIC INTERRUPTION. Adelaide, March 5. Advice has been received that the land lines to London are down as the result of the gale, and messages are being sent to Plymouth by raU every few hours.
