CHRISTMAS APPEAL.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sib,—Will you please allow mc through the medium of your valued paper to remind the public that now, in the midst of our preparations for the holidays, is the time in (ill the year to remember the poor and the DUtcast. As God has given us colonists freely, so give to the needy that they also may rejoice. The Samaritan Home is in every sense a shelter for those who have neither home nor friends, and the management will gratefully receive any and all kinds of gifts the charitable public may bo willing to give, and these may be sent either direct to the Home, or to Mr Blikiston (Hereford street), Sister Frances (Armagh street), Sister Edith (Manchester street), Key. Mr Dunkley (202 Durham street), Mrs Cunnington or tho writer. We have about forty inmates, one-half being women.—Yours, Sec, H. B. SORENSEN. Christchurch, December 18th, 1896.
