The wheat acreage of the colony has decreased by 1000 acres compared with last year, the yield also is smaller owing to the drought. The oat crop on the East Coast is estimated at 40 bushels per acre. The yield of potatoes is not quite equal to that of last year. Brisbane, December 16. A joint Committee of both Houses on the meat export trade recommend the establishment of cold storage at many distributing centres in Great Britain, also that the Government obtain Parliamentary sanction to borrow half a million of money, with which to provide for the better distribution of meat in England.
