The London and North-Western Railway Company has dismissed fifty Unionists for refusing to give a pledge that, in the event of a strike, they would remain in the Company's service. The.Union<threatens to proclaim a general strike unless they, are reinstated within a week. Sydney, December 9. There is no foundation for , the statement that Australia has rendered financial assistance to the Hamburg strikers. The only communication sent to Hamburg so far from Australia has been an expression of sympathy with the strikers.
