(PRfeSS ASSOCIATION TELEQBAM.) ♦ WELLINGTON, December 9. The barquentino Delmira, bound from the Bluff to Maiden Island, in ballast, was totally wrecked off Cape Palliser last night. No lives were lost. The coastal steamer Kahn, which arrived from Akatea, near Cape Pallieer, thift morning, brought Captain Hutchinson and ten of the crew of the barqueutine Delmira, which ran on a reef off Tekaukau, two miles from White Rock, in the vicinity of Cape Pallieer, at ten o'clook last night. The Delmira, which was an iron vessel of 338 tons, left the Bluff in ballast on November 30th, boond for Maiden Island to load guano for Done* din. She experienced light variable winds until Monday night last, when off Banks' Peninsula, when the wind veered to the south-west, and ultimately to the south, which brought the vessel oA Cape Pallieer. At eight o'clock hurt night the wind suddenly dropped, when tho vessel was close in ehorey and a heavy sea and swell sprang up, grftdualty carrying her to the land. . Captam Htrtchinson endeavoured to wear the snip round* bai in the absence of any wind the attempt failed, and she continued to drift until tat struck bow first on a ledge of rock*. Ttu heavy swell eventually carried her broadside on to the rocks, and this morning her bot torn was ripped open, and Captain Hutehin son says she is a total wreck. When the Delmira struck the boats .wen got out and fully provisioned. The captau and chief officer remained on board thi vessel, while the crew in boate stood by The Kahu passed * the wreck early thii morning, and took .all the men on board The vessel, which was owned by Messn Grice, Somers and Co., of Melbourne, it uninsured.'
