At the South Canterbury Board of Education yesterday it woe reported ■ that the number of candidates for scholarships was a record. The Rev. W. J. Comrie got mpsfj votee for the vacancy on the Board caused by the death of Mr T. R. Seddon. Mr Taltiot's report on the water eupply! to the Waitohi school and Mr Morris's on the dispute as to the constitution of Gapes'a Valley Committed were adopted. ImppT' tant matters relating to the staffs of the Pareora and Geraldine Schools were dealt with in Committee. ,
