The interest that is being evinced in this match, which commences at noon to-day on Lancaster Park, far exceeds that which has been shown in auy cricket match for years past. Every arrangement possible for the convenience of the public has been made, even to watering the Streets and appro-aches to the grouud. Official scoring cards will be issued at one penny each, and from them and the scoring boards all will be able to distinguish batsruen or bowlers as each appears or disappears. The North Islanders went in for good practice yesterday at the Park, aud are very confideut of giving a good account of themselves.

Tite Australians arrived from Dunedin by last night's express and were met at the railway station by the Hon. Sec. of the Cricket Council and a large number of. cricketers and others, who gave them a hearty welcome and three "cheers. They seem to have had a real good time in the South, and _-*om all accounts they will carry away such pleasant memories of New Zealand that we may reasonably expect many of them to visit us again before long. They are staying at the Occidental Hotel.

Messrs C. Bean and Co., agents for J. Wisden and Co., have offered a bat for tho highest individual score in either innings of the New Zoaland team. The New Zealand team have been presented with caps by the Cricket Council.
