Monday, September 14. (Before S. H. Willis and J. G. Fyfe, Esqs., J.P.'a.) Af.-TCnEn li-EAKTNO AND ENTRIIINfI,—P, T. Jones was charged with breaking into the dwelling of William Hollis, on August 20th, and stealing therefrom a silver pencil case, valued at 7s. Mr Nalder appeared for accused, who pleaded "Not Guilty." William Hollis, timber morohant, said that on Sunday, August 16th, lie left the pencil prodncod in a box on his table, Missed it on the 20th. Constable Moore deposed that on Saturday last he arrested the accused, and searched him. Found in his pocket tho pencil pw. duced, which Hollis identified as his. When arrested and cautioned, the accused ad* mitted being in tho house and taking the pencil. Sergeant Rutledee asked for a re* mand to the 16th, which was granted, on the understanding there would then be I farther remand for eight days to allow of tho Stipendiary Magistrate hearing the case. Steai-No Hyacinths.—-The accused wm further charged, in conjunction with William Seymour, with stealing hyacinthl, valued at 10s, from the garden of Geo. Rutherford. Mr Nalder appeared fot Jones. Both tho accused pleaded guilty. Sergeant Rutlcdgc said there was no previous conviction against Seymour, H« handed in a list of previous conviction" against Jones. Seymour was fined 10s, and ■Tones was sentenced to fourteen day's in. prisonment. Sergeant Rutledge asked if tor owner of the bulbs would lie allowed any sum out of the 10a.
