PAT.MERSTON NORTH, September 12. 'Wanganui defeated Manawatu to-day by 20 points to nil. The combination of the visitors was too much for the local men, who appeared to be quite out of form. NELSON, September 12. The match Marlborough v Nelson was played here to-day, when the local team won an uninteresting game by 6 points to nil. The scores were a penalty goal in the first spell and a try second spell. DUNEDIN, September 12. The final of the New Zealand Football Association tournament for the Brown trophy, played here to-day, after a stubbornly contested game ended in a win for Auckland, who hold the trophy for one year, by two goals to Wellington's one goal.
