THE FLAX INDUSTRY.
A crowded public meeting was held at Foxton on Friday night, in reference to the flax industry. The Mayor was in the chair. Addresses were given by Messrs John Holmes and A. E. Haggen, of Wellington, who had gone to Foxton at the express invitation of the residents. At the conclusion resolutions, were unanimously adopted approving of the appointment of an expert to visit Europe and America, and urging the claims of the flaxmillers to similar assistance.
