WELLINGTON v WAIRARAPA.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TEMSORAM.) WELLINGTON, September 5. The football match Wellington v Waira* rapa was played this afternoon, the loe&l team winning by 16 points to 3 points. In the first spell H. Kelly and Cafvan crossed the line, the latter's try being converted. That of the former went over the bar, but one of the opponents just managed to touch the leather with the tips of hie fingers, which rendered the goal void. As the local team had the advantage of the wind in tbie epell, and the visitors held their grouhd fairly well, it was expected the tables would be turned in the second spell, bat it wan otherwise. * The Wellington forwards got the ball nearly the whole time, and a further eight point* ,(a goal from a try by Roach, and a try by La wee) were scored. Just towards the end of the same tho visitors got on a rush, from which Grey scored, but no goal resulted. v
