The Russian and Vie dividing them from The Rush and Baddiley Glenalmond and Tyranny remaining at the' tail end. The pace wa, , now a "cracker," and' when Tambour and Fiesole headed Neweourt more than fire furlongs from home, Baddiley drew into fourth place, attended by The Rush, Rockdove, Bowline, and Tyranny, with:; Vie tailing off. At the Grosvenor Bridge, Fiesole was in difficulties, and for a few strides Baddiley on the outside held a slight advantage. He then resigned to The Rush, and they were followed round the,.bottom turn by Bowline, Rockdove, and Tyranny. From 'this point the race was never in serious doubt, as The Rush held his own in stout fashion and won by two lengths, Baddiley finishing twice as far in front of Rockdove. Powick made running from Egerton and Irish Car, and they were followed past the stand by Acrobat and Attainment, with Fealar at their heels, and Utica clear away in the rear. After passing the stand Powick added to his lead, Irish Car and Attainment, with Utica drawing much closer to Egerton. At the five farlong post Irish Car and Attainment ran into second and third places from Egerton, and in the meanwhile Powick continued to force the work. Thus he entered the straight two lengths clear of Irish Car, with Fealar rapidly drawing np in the centre, followed by Acrobat. At the distance Fealar challenged Powick, and in a line race home won by a head ; two lengths

between second and third; Egerton was fourth.
