CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION.
The Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union met yesterday. ■ Present—Messrs W. J. Cotterilt (in the chair), G- H. Mason, J. U. Collins, JBV T. Evans, T. M. Buntin, H. Froeb, W. Q. Garrard auu J. DAuiels. The South Canterbury Union wrote stating they would be able to play the North Canterbury Union on, August let in Christchurch,
The New Zealand Rugby Onion wrote asking what the ground charges would amount to in the match Queensland v Canterbury. It was decided to write back to the Uniou for further particulars. The - Kaiapoi Club wrote protesting against the conduct of the third team of the Albion Club in not apprising the Kaiapoi third fifteen of their inability to play 1 , thus causing the latter a certain amount of unnecessary trouble and expense. It was decided'to write to the' Albion Club for an explanation. The following fixtures were arranged for Saturday :—Ktrnt cl>iS3—Merivale v Kaiapoi, at Kaiapoi (Mr T. Reese) ; Christen urch v Linwood, at Lancaster Park (Mr Evans). Second class—East C'nristchurch v N'tu Ahmiri, at VVpodend (Mr W. G. Garrard); Albion v Sydenham, at Sydenham (lit Soper); Mefivale Second v Linwood Second, at Lancaster Park (Mr Lawrence). AU the matches were fixed for 2.45 p.m. sharp.
