Mr F. Biggs, the well-known Colliebreeder, J kas disposed of his two-year-old dog Opawa] Jack, by Opawa Don—Gwendoline, to a Brisbane breeder for a good round sum. Opawa Jack, who has been secured for stud purposes, will be taken to his new home during the next fortnight. Messrs Lynott and Bordsdoff of Melbourne will send their imported Champion ColUe Ormskirk Amazement to the New South Wales Kennel Club's show next month'but not for competition. In order to give greater interest to the judging at tbe principal shows in England, the practice is to supply each person leading the dogs into the ring with a numbered badge. This enables visitors to at once identify the exhibits, and'must add considerably to the interest taken in the proceedings. A Sydney paper of May 10th says :—Mr Charlie Bennett's Scotch Terrier made what is considered a wonderful rat catch st Tom Ugly's Point yesterday—66 in 35min. Mr A. H. Megson has scored another victory with his grand Collie dog Champion Southport Perfection, winning very easily in the open class at the late Manchester Show. The question has recently been asked in England : " Can a fox and a dog interbreed *' The reply by a leading authority was that " Such a hybrid as a fox and dog cross never saw the light of day."
