PUBLICANS PROVIDING BATHHOUSES.
HOUSES. TO TUB EDITOR OF THIS PKEBS. Sir, — The Kaiapoi police asked the Licensiug Committee to-day to provide baths, it is forty odd years since the first hotel was licensed and the first time suoh a request having been made one wants to kuow the reasou. A little bird that whispers says that it is to meet the requirements of the football teams visiting the town. Now, if the river, which has bien good enough for the inhabitants, ia not good enough for these gentry, then, I think, the enterprise which obtained the footballers parks should go one belter and provide a ualh, for which a small charge would soon recoup the outlay. Knowing how much the football teams would appreciate and gladly pay for hot or cold baths, there ought to be no difficulty in so providiug our visitors with what they waat. —Yours, &c, Simon.
