ASHLEY.
The annual meeting of the Ashley Licensing Committee wa* held at Amberley ou Tuesday. Present—Mi- H. W. Bishop, 8. fid. (Chairman), and Meaera T. S. Mauueriug, 1). D. MacFarlaue, T, MoNaughb, T. Keoner, A. W. Rutherford, D. Rutherford, Sandford, and G. B. Starky. The police reiiorti were satisfactory. The transfer of the Railway Hotel, Amberley, from G. Pain to p. D. Uoace was confirmed ; the transfer of the Uulverden Hotel from J. Moff<tt to D. McFarlane was confirmed; the transfer of the Rotherham Hotel was granted to Mrs Allan. Renewals were granted to ail the other applicants.
(FBSSS ASSOCIATION TBLKORAM.) AUCKLAND, Jane 2. At the annual meeting of the Licensing Committee for Auckland city, in four or five instances where licenses were granted objections were entered by the police relative to trading »f ter prohibited hours. The defaulting licensees were reprimanded and ordered to conduct their houses in accordance with the Licensing Act. Should adverse reports from the police be forwarded to the' Committee in the meantime the.said applicants will be refused licenses at the new yeai'a meetings.
