BISHOP JULIUS ON THE OLD TESTAMENT.
The Bishop of Christchuroh writes to the Wellington Post —" My attention has just been called to a letber signed " C.N.L.," whioh appears in your issne of the 7th instant, in which the writer states that he has it on my authority « that the Old Testament is nothing more nor leas than a historical fable.' The ababement is so obviously absurd that ib scarcely requires correction, but I shall be glad if you will allow ma to say thab the writer claims my support without warrant, and that I have never expressed or entertained any aueh opinion aa that he attributes bo mc."
