WELLINGTON ITEMS.
[By Kofii.]
Mr W. Wilson, of Uronui, has disposed of his black Spaniels to Mr F. Rogen of Wellington. Mr Simm tells mc that he intends to send (lis Irish Terrier, Larry Doolan, to Dunedin Show and expects to score a big win. Larry took a first prize at the last Wellington Show
Two Collies of the old English Sheep Dog type were passengers to Christchurch by the Penguin on Friday last. The N.Z.K.C. has not been long getting to work. The following two circulars, just issued by the Executive Committee, will be read with interest by breeders _ and fanciers :—
Circular I.—Wellington, March 26th, 1896—1n view of the strong competition in some breeds, it would appear necessary to introduce a class in schedules to be called a " Limit Class" for all dogs or bitches that have won not more than one first prize up to date of closing entries for a show. I should feel obliged if your committee would consider the matter at an early date, and favour mc with the result of their deliberations.
Circular 2.—The attention of secretaries of affiliated clubs is directed to Rule No. 1, Regulations for Dog Shows, respecting prefixes, with a request that the rule be carefully observed and that the fees for registration be collected at the time of assuming such prefix. It may be mentioned that the rule was framed entirely in the interests of fanciers, and my executive feel satisfied that tbe matter only requires explanation, when it will be cheerfully adhered to. By the way, the name of Kening was made into Kinvig in my report of the adjourned annual meeting of the New Zealand Kennel Club.
