THEATRE ROYAL.
Tho Royal Burlesque and Gaiety Com* pauy gave a change of programme last uight, wheu "Siubad the Sailor " was produced. As was the case with " Humpty Dumpty," the plot is merely the vehicle for bringing in of songs, danoea, ice, some of which were very good iudeed. Miss Bel Ponsouby as Hariz played the character with a good deal of go and spirit, and was especially successful in the butterfly dance, which waa encored and repeated. Miss Pousonby also took part in the pas de quatre in the aecoud act. Miss Lempriere as the Princess danced and saug well, and Mist Dora Busoh made a very good Siubad. Mist Wilmot is to be congratulated on her singing of a very pretty ballad, aud Littfe Addie Fa var c was also successful, more particularly in her dancing of tho sailor's hornpipe. This little lady is decidedly clever as a cLmxuse, and it would be far better if she confined her efforts solely to this line of business. Misses Howard and Finley did a&double song and dauco, " Little Birds," iv which their dancing was excellent. For an enc re they gave the Surprise dance. Mr Stevous made a distinctly good character part of the Duenna and Mr Cambourne was successful m tho part of the Caliph. Mr St. John waa Tiubad the Tailor. The Trilby ballet was repeated and the tableau of Australia. The piece went well, and will be repeated to-night.
