DUNEDIN, April 8. Tha convention of delegates from thi Women's Christian Tempur&ace Unions ot New Zealand was brought to & closa to-day. It was decided to invite Mrs Hoffman, oi Chicago, to visit the coiowy uot later than the end of July. The question of the introduction into schools of the Irish text book was relegated to tha Unions. Ro the 0. D. Act the members oi the Legislative Council are urged to make themselves acquainted with tho moat recent information, and unite with the House of Representatives in removiugiufuuioua Acta from the Statute Book. Ik was resolved that the Premier be thauked for his action re the C. D. Acts. A Committee of three was appointed to draw up a letter to the Minister of Education protesting against the introduction of the New Zealand School Reader into schools, it was decided to meet next year in Christchuroh. The following otiiuots were elected : —President; Mrs Schnackeuberg (AuckUnd); Correspondence Secretary, Miss Powell (Palmers* ton North); Recording Seorei&ry, Mia* Kirk (Welliugton) ; Treasurer, Mra Ballantyne (Riccarton). The heads of the various departments were appointed.
