HEATED COAL CARGOES. Sydney, April 8. Two more cases of heated cargoes have occurred at Newcastle this week. The ship Morua a.nd barque Inverary both had to discharge part of their cargoes, and official examinations are being made. A HANDSOME SUBSCRIPTION. Melboubne, April 8. The sum of £630 has been subscribed to send Mr Trenwith, the labour leader, home to /undergo an operation to restore his sight. ALLEGED ARSON. Brisbane, April 8. Somewhat of a sensational turn was given at the preliminary hearing of a charge of arson preferred against a number of bush workers of having burned the Ayrshire Downs shed during the recent labour trouble. A man named O'Neill, who had been sentenced to imprisonment on a charge of assaulting and robbing a constable, confessed to his having, with thirteen others, participated in the crime, and gave a graphic description as to how the act was committed. OSTRICHES FOR" NEW ZEALAND. Hobajjt, April 8. The Matatua, which, arrived here to-day, has on board fourteen out of seventeen live ostriches shipped for Mr Nathan, of Auckland.
