EASTER ENCAMPMENT.
(PRKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.)
AUCE-bAttD, April 7.
Ab the close of the Easter manoeuvres Colonel Gjring when addressing the officers and men said—"You have done your work cheerfully and well, and I thank you ; but the pity of it i» that amongst a commnnity of 50,000 people you could barely mueter 500 willing to turn out to protect, or learn to protect, your homes, your wives and children. That ie the pity of it ; but it is all the more credit to you who have turned out. The boys have net an excellent example. Bat I hope the day will come when men will be forced to come out to learn how to protect their wives, their families, and their homes. 0 Altogether, although the encampment differed from previous ones, and the men and the boya had» great amount of heavy field work, ib was the most instructive that has yet been held in Auckland. _____
