Offerings of grain were of considerable magnitude to-day, and a good deal of Wheat especially changed hands at our quotations. i Pearl and Tuscan attracted most attention, and realised from 3e 3d to 3* 4£d. Hunter's White being leas in request at 3s 2d to 3s 3d. f.o.b. Merchants were kent very busy all the morning, and the bulk of lots offering were sold. Barley was pretty freely submitted, but buyers are apparently not keen to operate axt-niitely, aad only the pick of the sample*

are finding buyers just now, medium lots being «ti_Scult to place.

Oats—Very few are being offered, and saies are not free, as buyers' and growers' ideas of values do not yet accord. Tbe markets outside offer but scant inducement for speculation. Peas—Prussian Bines are in demand at up to 03 6d f.o.b. There are not many in the market, and samples of prime quality are few and far between. Beans meet a very dull market just now. Sales were made to-day at 2s, country stations, but only for small parcels, buyere' ideas being generally below this level. Chaff is dull, and prices show no improvement on recent quotations. R-EGRass and Cock&foot are both quiet, outlets being at present very restricted. Prices are unchanged from our last quotations. SATURDAY'S MARKETS.

There was an entry of about a hundred horses in the various saleyards on Saturday, and there was a good demand for useful draughts aud the better class of hacks. The entry included a draft of about forty North Island horses, broken and unbroken, and these were nearly all sold, the best fetching good figures. Medium draughts sold at £12 to £13, spring cart and tram horses £13 to £17, medium harness horses £9 153 to £13, weight carrying hacks £1. 10a to £16 10a, medium hacks £7 153 to £10 10?, unbrokeu hacks £2 10a to £S 103. In the produce

markets there was a moderate entry of piga, mostly stores, and the salo was a dull one. Suckers made from 2a 9_ to 5s 6d, stores 9a 6d to 153 6d, and porkera 18a to 2 Is. The entry of poultry was a large one, and good prices were obtained for all classes except geese and turkeys. Roosters made 23 6d to 4s, hens Is 9d to 3|,, pullets 2s 6d to 43, ducks 2. to 33 3d, gee_e 33 6d to ss, turkey hens 7a 6d, do cocks 123 6d.
