FIRES.
Shortly after 2 o'clock this morning Co Q . I stable Field noticed fire issuing from the building known as Lane's Mill. He at once gave the alarm, and the Brigade was quickly on the spot. The chemical engine was first at the scene, and had little difficulty in ex. tinguisbing th 6 flames. The other engines were in attendance, hut their services were not required. The building was empty, and very little damage was clone. i A five-roomed cottage on Mr Mclntyre's farm, Ashburton Forks, was destroyed by fire on Tuesday evening. The building war insured in the Manchester office for £100. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN. March 11. By a fire Meadow Bank farm house at East Taieri was destroyed. The Norwich Union office loses £200 and the New Zea land office £50.
