WESTERN AUSTRALIAN POLITICS.

STATEMENT BY THE PEEMIEE. A MINISTER DISMISSED. Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright. Perth, March 11. Speaking at a banquet given him by a goldfielda deputation the Premier denied that it was probable that he would resign. He and his colleagues would hold office \s long as they had a majority in Parliament and a fair share of the support of the people. In reference to the friction in the Cabinet Sir J. Forrest states that in consequence of Mr Venn addressing a minute to the Press, charging the Premier with disloyalty to himself and endeavouring to show that the unsatisfactory condition of the railway department rested with the Premier, he, with the concurrence of his colleagues, wrote to Mr Venn asking him to resign. Mr Venn repeatedly declined, and finally Sir J. Forrest wrote to Mr Venn intimating that the Governor, acting on the Premier's advice, had dismissed him from office as Minister of Eailways and Works and as a member of the Executive Council. Mr Piesse is mentioned as Mr Venn's successor, the Premier acting meanwhile.
