CRICKET.

A meeting of the Junior Cup Committee of the Canterbury Crioket Association was hold at the Clarendon Hotel last evening, when, after a lengthy discussion, the protest entered by the Midland Club against the St. Aibans President's Cup team was dismissed.

A match was played on Thursday at Haglev Park between team, representing G. L. Beath and Co. aud the Fanners' Co-op. For G. L. Beath and Co., T. Voice 22, Sohofield 23, Malcolm 21, Hammei 35, Cassou 18. batted well. Bamm.i and H. Voice shared the bowling honours for the Farmers'. Petrie played a most useful innings of 29, alao howling very well. Soores—G. JU. Beath and Co. 159, Farmers' 83. A match was played on Thursday between lUngiora aud r_M&poi, on the ground of the latter, and resulted in a win for the visitors by 25 runs ou the first innings. .. Scores—iKaiapni, 51 (Martin 17, W.BUckweU 16); _Ungiora? 7- t-luWns 22, J. Anderson 12). For the winners Felton a_d Judson, and the loaers J. H. Blaokwell, bowled best. . A inos_ enjoyable game was played at Sydenham Park yesterday afteraoon between teams representing Bland Holt's Company and Sydenham- Anuinaton. U.0.C.. the latter winning on the first iunings by 10 runs. * For the Company, Hlcfcey played a fine inning* for 25, and Baker aud Mickey bowled exceediix/ly well. For the winners, Lawrence and - Freeman did belt with the bat, and R. Halley and H. Bowe, in the bowling. Afternoon tea was provided and dispeused by the following ladies :—-Mrs HadSeld, Mrs Halley, Mrs Bilker, aud Miss Jackson.
