Sydney, February 12. The heavy mdnsoonal rains and storms lately experienced in Queensland have extended to the western districts in New South Wales. Two inches fell at Bourke in less than an hour, and altogether five inches were recorded, and the lower streets were flooded. There has been a similar full all along the border. There are a number of washouts on the railway line 3 and traffic is greatly impeded.
About four inches of rain was registered in Bourke to-day. A ballast train was hemmed in between two washaways. So far the train is safe from the flood. The country is submerged in every direction and a large number of sheep have been drowned. In the Darling watershed twelve inches of rain fell in six hours, and this is sure to bring a heavy flood.
