DON'T ABSTAIN.

We most earnestly urge on every elector the imperative duty of recording his or her vote to-day. Apart from the circumstance that those who do not vote will be struck off the roll of electors, it is a duty which they owe to themselves and to their country to make their voice heard on the important issues which we have referred to in our leading article to-day. To those who desire the moderate partj in the House reinforced by the return of Mr. Charles Lewis, wa will just say that not a single vote can be spared in to-day's contest. It is a undoubted fact that the last Auckland election was lo3t to the moderate party by the abstentions of its supporters. We do not want a similar reproach to rest on Christchurch.
