(PRKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 11. The representatives of the Fire Under* writers' Association bavo been sitting in Conference here for the last ten days. Amongst other snbjeots they have had thr fire tariffs under revision, and to* day a resolution was passed tbat betweeu this date and the date on which the revised tariffs are brought into operation the rates ot the now current tariff are to be charged subject to the provision that a refund may be made in oases where the new rate proves lower than the old. These refuuds, however, are not to be retrospective. It was stated at the meeting that the 10.a.s of the Companies by fires iv New Zealand during 1395 exceeded £220,000. .
