Sugar, best German beet, 11s 9d; Java, 13s 6d, firm. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, 46s 9d. January 25. At the wool sales there is keen competition, with a tendency to advance. The present series will close on the 80th. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, iomited, have received the following London cablo message, dated 24th January, 18S6:— Tallow—Market better. New Zealand fine mutton and good beef are worth respectively 22s 6d and 20s 9d per cwt. (Last quotations were 22s 3d and 20s 3d per cwt.) Frozen Meat—Market dull. Canterbury mutton is worth Bfd per lb. (Last quotation was 4d.)
