* The Otago Daily Times eaya that reports from the country districts go to show that the phoaphorised pollard now being used for poisoning rabbiu ie proving a source of great destruction to the wild duck. Oae settler reports that in a small lagoon he counted no less tnan twenty-two grey ducke that had been killed by the poisou. Tbie news is anything but cheering, particularly in view of the operations of the Acclimatisation Society towards making large importations of game from America and the Old Country.
