: . — ♦ . The ordinary meeting was neld on Mon«, day, the 6fch inst. Present—Mr J. W. Over ton (Chairman) and Messrs J. Sinclair and Thomas Leathern. The Commissioner of Taxes wrote, asking for information relative to rates, to enable him to certify to an advance of subsidy. Information for* warded. The Clerk's report was considered.. It was resolved, that J. Smith be granted an extension of time to complete hie shlngl* ing contract; that the question of planking the drains through Messrs Anderson and Sharp's lands stand over for a full Board} that tenders ■be invited for carting 2000 cubic yards of gravel. The tender of Jobs Millier was accepted for work on Mtnobin'a Creek. Mr Leathern proposed—•• That tht Selwyn Council be asked to ereot a traffic, bridge over the Halβwell river, near the footbridge, to connect the Akaroa road with tha Tramway Drain road." This wot' seconded by Mr Sinclair and carried. Xk - pay-sheet, £88, was passed. V-~
