TWO COURAGEOUS LADS.
A Press Aswuiatiou telegram statea that another sad drowuing ucaident, the third which has beeu recorded within the laat few days in the vicinity of Wellington, happened at Island Bay yesterday morning. Two young ladies, Miss Olive Goldfinch, aged about seventeen, daughter of the late Mr J. M. Goldfinch, C<uef Clerk to the Police Department, and Alias Liilie Brown, daughter of Mr S. Brown of Hanson street, went to bathe off the rooks along the Queen'a drive, about 200 yds distant from the Island Bay Hotel. By some misadventure they got into deep water and sank. The accident was seen by Masters Harold yon and P«cy Kinniburgh, two Wellington College lade Yon D*del6zen went ici and eventually succeeded in bringing Miss Browu safely ashore, exhausted but alive. Her companion had sunk out of sight. Young Kinniburgh dived and recovered the body of MUs Goldfinch but. although remedies were promptly used, it was too late to save life. Both lads showed bravery worthy of the highost commendation.
