FRIDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

(BY OT7R COMMERCIAL EDITOR ) Those who have tbeen hoping to sac the price of Oats remain fairly steady, after tho removal of the duties in New South Wales, have been keenly disappointed, and we regret to have to record a decline in the value there to-day of the equivalent to the late duty. It was hoped, at least, that the market would not sutler the full fall, in which case our market here would have probably remaiued very firm, buc with a drop in Sydney to 2j 6J, aud a possible further decline, it does not look at present at all encouraging to holders of old stocks here. The market to-day is weaker and nominally prices are Is lOi to 2s at country stations. It is reported that a line of new oats has been sold in town this week for prompt delivery and that the oats arc already threshed. It i=> a very early crop if the report is correct. The price reported is 2s at Rakaia. Wheat—Business is difficult to effect just now. Millers appear to bo well supplied, and there are fair stocks of Tuscan and Hunter's still available. Sellers fiud that to clear out cow they have to accept a shale lower price than they could have obtained a short time since, and about 3a 6J io 5j 3 1 at couutry stations seems to hi the idea of buyers at the moment.

IJaki-ev. is not very plentiful, i.enco values for this arc well maintained. Uiitil tho prospects for tho new crop are definitely ascertained, there is no great probability of much being done. Values arc nominally 2j 6d to 33. L:\tor in the mouth an enquiry from tho North may be expected for 11i_grass and Cocksfoot for autumu sowing. At present the marked is lifeless ami iuoparatn'u. [These quotations, unless other tsise specified, are the net cash prices paid to the producer free of brokerage or commission, and for delivery at country stations within a ticenttj-five mile radius of town. For delivery on board ship at Lyttelton add 2d to per bushel. ]
