WELLINGTON.
Wellington, December 23. The Senior Championship match between the Wellington and Rival Clubs was brought to a conclusion on Tuesday evening, when the former won by. seven wickets. At the start of the play" Wellington had lost two wickets for 41 runs, and they still required 84 to win. The not outs when ploy ceased the previous week were Ashbolt (14) and Howell (11). The latter only added a single before he was caught and bowled by Dryden. Holdship then joined Ashbolt and the pair knocked off the remaining runs withoulj further disaster, Ashbolt making 52 and Holdship 39. Both batsmen gave a diflteult chance. Ashbolt hit Howard twice in one over for 6 and Holdship made a hit for 7 off Crawfurd.
