Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. New York, January 1. The New York Stock Exchange has greatly improved, owing to the issue of bonds. It is stated that 150,000,000d015. worth have been subscribed already. The Morgan syndicate has offered to supply 5,000,0000z of gold at the option of the Government, in exchange for 4 per cent bonds. The commission charges are believed to be 1 per cent. The Rothschilds refused to assist, and it is improbable that any money will be offered by London financiers.
