CRICKET.
MIDLAND CLUB (WELLINGTON) v MIDLAND CANTERBURY CLUB. The annual match between the above teams was commenced at Hagley Park yesterday afternoon, but on account of the late arrival of the visitors the game was not started until late. Wellington went in first, and batting two men short, they made 93, the ex-Lancaster Park player, C. A. Jones, contributing a well played 47, not out, while M'Girr aud Pauling also made double figures. The home team had five minutes batting and during that time they scored 2 runs for the loss of no wickets. Scores :—
