ST. LUKE'S.

This pretty church was as usual very tastefully decorated with flowers, evergreens; &c. The services throughout were very good indeed, special hymns and anthems being given by the choir on Christmas Day. The Yen. Arohdeacon Lingard officiated at the various services. ST. JOHN'S, I.ATIMER SQUARE. 'The decorations at this church were very tastefully carried out. The greenery was principally ivy ' and holly. At the east end of the church the decorations were most profuse. In the centre window on a red ground stood a large white cross entwined witb ivy. The ohoir stalls, ■ reading desk and pulpit were covered with ivy and varigated holly, relieved with red and white flowers. The posts of the stalls were topped with plumes of white toi-toi, and the pulpit had suspended in- front of it a cross of variegated ivy and white lilies. The font at' the base was clustered with evergreens, and contained a miscellaneous collection of white flowers. The windows on the north and south sides were hung with ivy, and the Communion rails were, decorated in keeping with the surroundings. The services on Christmas day, both morning and evening, were taken by the Vioar, the Rev. H. C. M. Watson. ' There was a good congregation at both services. At the carol service on Christmas eve the service was taken by his Lordship Bishop Julius, who preaohed a short, sermon suitable for the season. The choir sang the carols " Holy Night," "Good King Weneeslaus," "The First Nowel," and ** Good Christian men rejoice," The anthem for the evening was the recitative *' There were Shepherds," and Mr Steer sang " The Star of Bethlehem," The choir also sang "The. Hallelujah Chorus," from the "Messiah."
