RANGIORA BOROUGH SCHOOL.
The annual priza distribution took place on Friday afternoon, in the presence of a number of the parents and Committee. Mr R. Ball, Chairman of the Committee, presided, and Mr Buddo, M.H.R. and the Revs. P. R. Monro and F. J. Garlick addressed those present. The certificates of merit, which the Chairman explained were fiven in lieu of prizes, were handed to the by- by Mr Buddo and to the girls by Mrs Keir, the Mayoress. Standard I.—H. Cunningham 1, G. .Cross 2, R. Lace and Mina Bennington (equal) 3. Standard ,11.— Elsie Hills 1; Alice Lace, J. Thompson, E. Wright, R. Wilson (equal), 2 ; Alice Burt and G. King (equal) 3. Standard lII.— Bessie Laoe 1, H. Gillespie 2, Cecil Cave 3. Standard IV.—Edith McDonald 1, Gladys Rogers 2, 0. Keir 3. Standard V.—James Monro 1, F. Hadecke 2, W. Taylor 3. Standard Vl.—Robert Dunkerley 1, Maude Harman 2, Conatance King 3. Standard Vll.—Leonard Ayers 1, Winnie Gillespie 2, Henry Rogers 3. Sewing—Standard VIL, W. Anderson; Standard VI., F. Payne 1, H. Gulliver 2 ; Standard V., H. England 1, E. Burt 2; Standard IV., E. Jones 1, E. Ball 2; Standard 111., May Payne 1, C. Crerar 2; Standard 11., Alice Lace 1, J. Thompson 2; Standard 1., Amy Bailey 1, Annie Luxton 2. At the termination of the proceedings Mr Buddo moved a vote of thanks to the Head Master, Mr Cumberwojrth, and teaching staff, and the scholars gave three cheers for the Committee and visitors and a tiger for the holidays.
