THE NEW ARRANGEMENTS.
The amalgamation of the Bank of New Zealand and the Colonial Bank, brougnt about by Act of Parliameut, took place on Mond»y, 18th instant, the latter ceasing to exist after 5 p.m. as a separate Bvnk, except for the purpose of winding up its affairs in accordance with the agreement. The keys of the Colonial Bank passed in the afternoon into the hands of the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, which became the possessor of the premises in Hereford street, formerly, occupied by the Colonial .Bank, also of the Bank's fittings, furniture, documents, deed box'ss. &c, and as time permits such as require removal will be placed in the building at the corner of Hereford and Colombo streets. The branches of the Colonial Bank at Timaru and Rangiora, where also the Bank of New Zealand has branches, wore subjected to the same process of amalgamation. Mr Embliog, the present manager of the Bank of New Zealand, will be manager having aole charge in Christchurch, and Mr Burns, manager of the late Colonial Bank, joins the former a> assistant manager. WELLINGTON, November 18. MrH. Mackenzie, the General Manager of theColonial Bank, becomes General Manager of the Bank of New Zealand. Mr C. G. Andrews, who has been acting General Manager, retires from the Bank of New Zealand altogether. Eighty-four officers of the Colonial Bank go over to the Bank of New Zealand and others will follow. None of the Bank of New Zealand officials will be affected. The Post gives the following list of changes affecting the various managers and agents of the Colonial Bank, and tue positions to which they will be transferred in the Bank of New Zealand: —Mr Dennieton, Auckland, to be assistant manager; Mr Reid, Wellington, to be assistant manager; Mr Burns, Christchurch, to be asaistaut manager; Mr Ewing, Dunedin, to be assistant manager ; Mr Nixon. Wanganui, jto be manager; Mr Fenwick. Napier, to be manager ; Mr Fraser, New Plymouth, to be accountant; Mr Howard, Blenheim, to be accountant; Mr Winton, Nelson, to be assistant manager; Mr Clarke, Westport, to be accountant; Mr Robinson to be accountant; Mr Gudgeon, Queenstown, to be agent; Mr Cargilf, Balclutha, to be accountant; Mr Morrie, Lawrence, to be agent; Mr Bramble, Gore, to be accountant; Mr Shallcrasß, Wyndham, to be accountant. The appointments are all at the places where these officers are now managers or agents. Mr Ferguson, agent at Raefton, will be made agent at Palmerston South, the managers or agents of the Bank of New Zealand at Napie:, Wauganui. Pal mc re ton South, Queenstown, and Lawrence will be transferrvd to other branches. The staffs of the Colonial Bank at the Bluff, Cromwell, Ophir, Sfc- Bathana, East Dunedin, and Kurow will be taken over as a whole, the Bank of New Zealand not having been previously represented at these places.- Six junior members of tfte Wellington staff of the Colonial Bank go over to the Bank of New Zealand at once, and it is expected that some of the seniors will follow in a few days, and others later. Other changes will probably be arranged for on the arrival of Mr Mackenzie from Dunedin on Sunday.
