PRESIDENT'S CUP MATCHES.
The matoh between the Midland and Lancaster Park No. 1 teams was brought to a conclusion at Lancaster Park on Saturday, when the Midland won by 34 runs. ScoresMidland 123 and 118, Lancaster Park 141 and 66 (W. Raphael 15, and Manning and M. Ridley 13 each). Spencer, Bennett and Ryan divided the bowling honours for the winners. * Christ's College won their match against St. Albatis by an innings and 120 runs. The College made 269, Rattray 93 (not out), Harman 39, C. Ollivier 50, M. Louisson 19, Ormsby 17, Weston 17, Wright 16, and St. Albans 89 and 60, Taylor 14 and 22, Smith 12 and 0, Newton 23 and 3, Chapman 2 and 20. The best bowler for St. Albans was Eldridge, five wickets fur 35 ; and the best for the College were—H. Oilivier three for 13 and seven for 21, Harmau two for 16. A match was commenced on Saturday at Hagley Park between Warwick House and High School. Scores—Warwick House, 128 (Whittle 37, Townend 15, W. O. Rutherford 14, Winter 10, Gordon 14 not out); High School, 18. Whittle and W. O. Rutherford for Warwick House took seven wickets for j 6 runs and three wickets for 8 runs respectively. Mason and Roes played beat foe the High School."- ; - f •■'•■• - On Saturday the Linwood Cricket Club's Second Eleven beat the Imperial Cricket Club by an innings and 28 runs. The scores beiug—Linwood, 47; Imperial, 9 and 10. For Linwood G. Ford took asvon wickets for 2 runs, while Hale bowled best for Imperial. Matches were played" on Mr Blake's ground, New Brighton, on Saturday, with the Waltham Club and the Sydenham and Addington Club, New Brighton pulling off both events. Scores : Sydenham and Addington 34 (Davie 11); New Brighton 97 (McHaffie 20, J. Preece, sen. 45, not out.) For New Brighton, J. Slater took six wickets, and Keats two wickets ; Waltham first 14 ; second 20. New Brighton, first 52 (A. Thomson 31.) In the match against Beath and Co.'s CO., on Thursday, T. Prebble, for New Brighton, took seven wickets for 9 runs. Upper Rtccarton defeated the Sydenham and Addiugton A team by 28 runs. Scores: Upper Kiccarton 57 (Webb 14, Hanson 13, not out, Hunt 10), Sydenham aud Addington 29.
